The Camden Fairview Board of Education held its monthly school board meeting on Tuesday, which also marked the first school board meeting of the2017-2018 school year. During Tuesday's meeting, the board recognized an administrator for a recently-presented award, spoke about the district's re-vamped website, and of savings from a switch to a different food provider.

After the meeting was called to order, C.F. Deputy Superintendent Fred Lilly was recognized for being named as the Arkansas Association of School Personnel Administrators’ 2017 Administrator of the Year.

Lilly received the award earlier this month. He has served the district in several areas over his career as a teacher, coach, principle and athletic director.

During the meeting, Assistant Superintendent Johnny Embry spoke to the school board about the new C.F.S.D. website. Embry said that the site is currently under construction, but as already replaced the old site.

On the new site, each school within the district will have its own webpage, which will improve parent and teacher interaction.

Also, during the meeting the new CFSD teachers and staff members were recognized and welcomed by the board.

Other topics that were discussed, is that Sysco will be the food provider for the 2017-2018 school year. It was mentioned that switching to this provider will save the district $15,000 per month.

The board said that this would be a savings of $150,000 per year for the Camden Fairview School District.

It was also stated that Performance Chevrolet is planning to sponsor the kick-offs for the football season at Camden Fairview and Harmony Grove.

As part of the kick-off, Performance is planning to hold fundraisers.
