The Harmony Grove Lady Hornets captured the Murphy Market Invitational title on Saturday.
The Hornets defeated White Hall in overtime, 45-42. Sidney Pigott scored 29 points in the win. Halley Bryant and Anna Grace Griffin combined for 12 points. Kaitlyn Wright and Macy Turner also played critical minutes in the game.
Also, Hampton beat McGehee in the third place game, 50-41.
This was the school's first time hosting an all girls tournament.
Hornets finish in Fordyce
The Harmony Grove Hornets defeated Dollarway to finish its stint in the Fordyce tournament over the weekend. The team was led by Antowin Edward with 14 points. Johnny Pierce scored 13 and Bryan added 11. Jayce Posey chipped in with 7 points while Preston Paden and Chase Denton added six each.
