Greater Love Church of God in Christ, 447 Sycamore St., will hold a catfish-dinner fundraiser from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday. The meal will be catered by Frances and Friends, will be $10 per person and will consist of fish, baked beans, corn-on-the cob, coleslaw, hush puppies and a drink.

Rising Star Church to

hold appreciation day

Rising Star Baptist Church in Amy will honor its pianist, Carolyn Joyce Harris, during morning service at 11 a.m. Sunday for her 20 years of service.

On June 11, the church will celebrate its 106th anniversary with guest speaker the Rev. Joe Morgan and guest church Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

On June 14-16, the church will hold a three-night summer revival at 7 p.m. nightly. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Floyd Bennett of New Providence Baptist Churhc of Fordyce.

Down East Boys set

to perform on June 1

The Down East Boys will be in concert at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Cullendale First Baptist Church.

For more than 30 years, the Down East Boys have traveled from coast to coast - including Canada and Mexico, singing gospel music. They have recorded 22 projects with more than 40 songs reaching the top of the "Singing News" charts.
