A Camden man was arrested recently for stealing medication and money from a friend.

An incident report shows that on Tuesday, Nov. 27, Ouachita County Sheriff’s Department Capt. David Pennington was approached by Lucas Purifoy at the Cardinal Café.

Purifoy reportedly stated that he had a friend, Joshua Anders, working on the café and he had sent Anders to his shop at 231 Pleasant Hill Road in Chidester next to his residence to retrieve some tools.

Purifoy stated that he had just received a text from a video camera inside his residence that showed Joshua Anders inside his bedroom taking money from a small money safe that is located beside his bed.

Purifoy then showed Pennington some still pictures of Anders standing beside his bed in over the safe.

Purifoy stated that he had noticed money and some medication missing the last couple weeks and that he placed the camera in the bedroom to catch who it was.

Purifoy stated that Anders would be back at the Cafe within minutes

Once Joshua Anders arrived at the Cafe he was placed into custody and transported to the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Department. Joshua Anders was advised of his Miranda rights and questioned about the incident. Anders admitted going through the window of the residence on three different occasions in the last two weeks, taking money and on each occasion.

Anders advised that he had taken approximately $300, 40 Tramadol and 8 Xanax during the the times he entered the residence.
