Camden man gets bond of $500,000 for sexual assault

A Camden man - Ardisdueay Dafney - who was charged with fourth degree sexual assault and internet stalking of a child after his relationship with a minor was revealed was issued a $500,000 bond during his recent first court appearance.

On July 30, 2018, Ouachita County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Nathan Greeley spoke with a woman who stated she lives in Dallas, Texas, and has guardianship of her granddaughter.

She stated that her granddaughter was currently in her custody, but she was previously reported as a runaway out of Texarkana, Arkansas, when the girl was living with her dad.

The woman stated that her granddaughter met Ardisdueay Dafney, 30, on Facebook and eventually told Dafney the problems she was having at home. She said Dafney went to Texarkana sometime between January and February, picked her granddaughter up and took her back to Camden where they lived together for months. The grandmother reported that while living together, her granddaughter and Dafney had sexual intercourse several times and as a result, her granddaughter became pregnant with Dafney’ s child.

On Aug.29, , the granddaughter was interviewed by Chelsea Zortman at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center while Detective Denise Rodriguez observed. During the course of the interview, the girl disclosed the following: At the time she and Dafney met, she was having issues at home. She met Dafney on Facebook and the two communicated through messenger.

Dafney reportedly told the girl that “he was going to help her get out of her situation,” and Dafney went “and picked her up in Texarkana and brought her to Camden. She and Dafney lived together for some months “ and had a sexual relationship.

The girl added that she discovered she was pregnant in April.

Dafney is currently detained in the Ouachita County Detention Center.
