A Camden woman has pleaded guilty to battery and terroristic threatening in September, and she was placed on five years probation during a recent court appearance, according to documents from the Ouachita County Circuit Court.

Court documents state, “Officer Watts was dispatched to the Ouachita County Medical Center in reference to an assault on a paramedic. Upon arrival, contact was made with Dr. Daniel. Daniel stated a paramedic was assaulted while on duty on the evening of Sept. 6, 2018. Daniel informed Officer Watts (that) Regina Herndon - the woman that assaulted the paramedic - was aware of the fact that she was HIV positive.”

The paramedic stated that he had been dispatched to an address on Frazier Street in reference to a woman having a seizure. After arriving, he assisted Herndon onto the stretcher and she became combative. He said Herndon appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

The paramedic said he and another paramedic had to strap Herndon to the gurney five times. The paramedic also stated that as they were on the way to the hospital, Herndon was able to get her hands loose and scratch his arms. The document states that the paramedic was seen with a medium-sized scratch on both of his arms.

During the incident, Herndon was heard saying: “I am Satan, I am going to kill all of ya’ll.”

He that added Herndon began trying to bite everyone. The paramedic stated that there were two other individuals at the residence who were friends of Herndon, and they had visible bite marks where Herndon had bitten them. The individuals refused medical treatment for their bites.

He said once Herndon was transported to the OCMC emergency room, she was no longer combative. While being treated, he said he heard Herndon admit to drinking and smoking crack.

During her court appearance, Herndon was also ordered to attend anger management courses, pay a $1,500 fine and pay $50 monthly.
