Zion Hill Baptist Church is organizing a special conference for seniors

The Zion Hill Baptist Church will host a Senior Adult Conference at 9:45 a.m. on Monday. The theme for the event is: "Enjoying Our Golden Years."

Bishop Chester Thompson said the purpose of the conference is a part of the church’s mission to do something about the conditions in the community every month. While the conference is geared toward area residents that are 55 and over, Thompson said that everyone is welcome to come and learn.

The event will address a variety of topics that are related to the senior citizen in the community including health and finances.

Ouachita County Health Department’s Ellen Garret is on program to speak about “guarding our health” along with Gwen Edwards who will talk about energy assistance. Cynthia Hill will speak about medicare awareness.

There will also be several special presentations during the conference along with music and a message from the Rev. W.T. Ward and the First Baptist Church of Huttig and the Singpiration Singers of Zion.
