The Camden Fairview Softball Team held its award ceremony at the C.F. High School Library on Monday.

Because the Lady Cardinals were preparing for the state tournament during the All Sports Banquet, awards were postponed until after the softball season concluded.

The Lady Cardinals ended the season with an impressive 18-7 record, and a return trip to the 5A State Playoffs.

C.F. senior Makenna Smith made the All State and the All Conference teams.

Four more Lady Cards earned All Conference Awards - Lexi Betts, Bailey Carmody, Anna Dawson and Kori Smelser.

“Very proud of the success you all had in multiple areas,” C.F. Head Softball Coach Kendra Center said. “Don’t be satisfied. 18-7 is good but not good enough... Be prepared to work.”

C.F. Athletic Director Ricky Tucker thanked the parents for their support over the season. Tucker gave the team advise for next year. He said that he felt the Lady Cardinals were as good as anybody in the playoffs and spoke to the team about going to “new heights” next season in a different conference.

“We’ve had a great run this year,” Tucker said. “Coach Center, (Assistant Coach Leigh) Millican and (Assistant Coach Jullie) McClelland has done an outstanding job.”

Below is a list of individual award winner:

• Cardinal Award - Alexis Bryant

• Rookie of the Year Award - Julia Milner

• Defensive Player of the Year - Kori Smelser

• Offensive Player of the Year Award - Makenna Smith

• MVP - Lexi Betts
