— Possible tornadoes reported in Okla., & Ark.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The National Weather Service is investigating reports of multiple tornadoes in northeastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas.

Tulsa meteorologist Joe Sellers said Wednesday there were several reports Tuesday of weak twisters in Rogers, Sequoyah and Wagoner counties in Oklahoma. Sellers says an investigator was working Wednesday to confirm the reports, determine the amount of damage and rate the intensity of the possible tornadoes. Sellers says reported damage is minor with tree limbs downed and shingles blown off roofs. There have been no reports of injuries.

In Little Rock, officials say a confirmed tornado touched down mid-afternoon Tuesday on the border of Franklin and Johnson counties, causing minor tree damage.

Severe thunderstorms with strong winds also rolled through central Oklahoma on Tuesday, flipping parked vehicles and causing more than 3,000 power outages.

Suspect in parents deaths is arrested in Oklahoma

EDMOND, Okla. (AP) — An Arkansas man suspected in the shooting deaths of his parents has been arrested in Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Dustin Jordan was taken into custody late Tuesday in Edmond near Lake Arcadia. Troopers say Jordan was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities in Arkansas have been searching for Jordan since Monday, when the bodies of his parents, Kathy and Michael Jordan, were found inside their home in eastern Arkansas near the Oklahoma border. Officers had responded to the Franklin County residence for a welfare check, but they obtained a search warrant after discovering a bullet hole in the window and found the bodies inside. Authorities say both of the dead had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Lawyer alleges slander over gay-marriage case

PULASKI COUNTY - The attorney who initiated the lawsuit that overturned Arkansas’ ban on same-sex marriage is suing her former co-counsel in the case, accusing him of maliciously belittling her contributions to the effort and costing her at least $380,000 in legal fees.

The defamation lawsuit filed Monday by Cheryl Maples says fellow lawyer Jack Wagoner made slanderous statements about her. The suit also names as defendants Wagoner’s eponymous law firm; former Wagoner associate Angela Mann, who now has her own firm; and an unidentified former circuit judge who is said to have acted as an adviser to Wagoner. The 11-page pleading focuses almost entirely on Wagoner, 57, a former law-school classmate of Maples, 68. Maples is asking Pulaski County Circuit Judge Mary McGowan for a jury trial to decide how much in punitive and compensatory damages she is owed.

Both Mann, 36, and Wagoner were out of the office on Tuesday and did not return messages seeking comment.
