Lady Cards finish week with win, loss

The Camden Fairview Lady Cardinals may have loss on the road to Mena on Thursday night, but it was a week to remember for the team.

On Tuesday, the Lady Cardinals celebrated its six seniors - Khalia Calaham, Bailey Carmody, Anna Dawson, Zay Fort, Laney Pate and Grace Tidwell - before picking up a hard-earned victory over a tough Bauxite team in a very tense contest. .

The Lady Cardinals loss 3-2 against Bauxite in December, but were able to defeat the Lady Miners 3-1 this time around.

With Head Coach Allie Rybiski out with an illness, assistant volleyball Coach Kendra Center stepped in to steer the team.

After losing its first set because of late unforced errors, the Lady Cardinals responded to defeat the Lady Miners the next three sets.

It was the first season in the 4A West for the Lady Cardinals Volleyball team. The conference consist of not only some of the best volleyball programs in the state.

Mena, Malvern, Magnolia and Arkadelphia lead the conference with Mena being undefeated in conference play.
