First concert of OCCCA’s 2018-19 season

The Ouachita County Community Concert Association and Live on Stage will kick off its 2018-2019 season Tuesday with “Not Fade Away - the Buddy Holly Experience.”

The concert will be held at 7 p.m. .

According to the OCCCA website regarding Not Fade Away:

He describes his unique style of country as “modern-traditional,” mixing the authenticity of the 90’s with the contemporary edge of today.”

This is not your typical tribute show. The band brings us back to the days of swoonin’, boppin’ and rockin’ with fresh new takes on classic hit songs including ‘That’ll Be The Day,’ ‘Peggy Sue,’ ‘Oh Donna and ‘La Bamba.’

The concert set for Tuesday will also provide the artist’s take on music from Bill Haley, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis.

The OCCCA will continue providing entertainment to the area with another concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, with “Nashville Legacy” featuring Jason Coleman & Meagan Taylor.

“Pioneer pianist Floyd Cramer and guitarist Chet Atkins’ names are synonymous with the ‘Nashville Sound,’” the artist’s website states. Their legacy lives on through Floyd’s grand- son, Jason Coleman, and Chet’s niece, Meagan Taylor.

The OCCCA has been providing live enter- tainment to the community for 72 years, according to organization member, Kay Martin. The cost of four concerts is $60, and children accompanied by an adult who has purchased an OCCCA membership will be able to attend the concert free of charge. All concerts will be held in the Little Theatre at the Camden Fairview High School.
