It’s unfortunate that prescription drugs don’t have the same stigma attached to them as heroin, crack or methamphetamine.

People are way too casual about taking medications “to make you feel better” that aren’t prescribed to them. Chances are most of us wouldn’t take a rock of crack from a “friend,” but we might consider a pain pill, muscle relaxer or Xanax.

That’s why certain medications are being abused and people are dying from them. We’ve had a string of prescription drug-related deaths over the past year here in South Arkansas.
