Sherman Dwayne Groves, 72, of Warren, died on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at Bradley County Medical Center in Warren.

Born on April 6, 1937, in Monticello, he was the son of Jessie Thomas Groves and Evia Lea Page Groves. He was a former employee C & H Sugar Co. in Crockett, Calif., a retired sawyer for Potlatch Corp. and Bradley Lumber Co. and a member First Assembly of God.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Ollie Ruth Groves; and a great-grandchild, Kenneth Dwayne Westerbuhr.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Mabry Groves; three daughters, Nancy Westerbuhr, Debra Carr and Cynthia Pacheco, all of Warren; two brothers, Shannon Groves of Bradford and Jessie Groves of Pine Bluff; six sisters, Doris Helton of Warren, Loretta Bartrow of Pine Bluff, Shirley Hampton of Warren, Wilma Howard of New Edinburg, Glenna Norman and Vicky Reynolds, both of Warren; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. on Monday in Frazer’s Chapel.

Burial will be Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
