Jerry Wayne Lancaster Sr., 64, of Spearsville, La., died on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Born on July 13, 1945, in Delhi, La., he was the son of James Otis and Myrtis Dennis Lancaster. Jerry was an electrician in the maintenance department at the El Dorado processing plant for 15 years working for ConAgra and Pilgrim’s Pride. He was of the Baptist faith.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Phillip De LaCruz.

Survivors are his wife, Karen Simmons Lancaster of Spearsville; a daughter, Laura Briggs of Charlestown, R.I.; sons Jerry Lancaster Jr., and John Lancaster, both of El Dorado; a stepdaughter, Connie Lewis of Spearsville; a brother, Kenny Lancaster of Pawcatuck, Conn.; sisters Billie Jean Mallet of Bridgeport, Conn., and Debbie Lancaster of Pawcatuck; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at 864 Pilgrim’s Rest Church Road in Spearsville.

Cremation services were provided by Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.
