Joe Carl Roberson, 79, of El Dorado, died on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Timberlane Health & Rehab.

He was born on Jan. 31, 1931, in the Shuler community, the son of Mattie Ella Mathis Roberson and Joe Shepherd Roberson.

He was a retired scrap iron hauler and truck driver. He was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Brotherhood Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven McElroy Roberson; three sisters, Esteen Lowery and Christine and Rose Lee Roberson; and two brothers, Will Smith and Willie L. Roberson.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Miles of Milwaukee, Wis., and Nora Gerf of Houston, Texas; a brother, Jerry Ray Roberson of El Dorado; one sister, Pauline Davis of El Dorado and one grandchild.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Salem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Steward officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home in El Dorado.

There will be no public viewing at the funeral home. All viewing will be after the funeral.

The family will be at 1318 Craig St. in El Dorado.
