Eddie Leon Hawkins Sr., 79, of Lewisville, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, in a Texarkana hospital.

He was born June 20, 1930, in Pine Bluff to the late Edward and Ollie Mae Chambers Hawkins. He ived in Camden for many years, and lived in Lewisville since 1972. He was a former member of First Baptist Church in Lewisville, most recently was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Texarkana, and was retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad and the Lafayette County Sheriffs Office.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frankye Arnold Hawkins, in 2006.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Danny King of Texarkana, and Terri and Marty Wolfe of Camden; one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Janet Hawkins of Texarkana; one sister, Betty Jo Hawkins Blakemore of Shreveport, La.; six grandchildren, Don (Heather) Paxton of Nashville, Tenn., Jamie (Michelle) Wolfe of Bentonville, Jonathan (Tracy) Wolfe of Camden, Allison (Les) Munn of Texarkana, Nick (Libby) Paxton of Texarkana, Josh (Erica) Hawkins of Texarkana and nine great-grandchildren.

Texarkana Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Lewisville with the Rev. Bill Saxby and the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville with honors by the Arkansas Sheriffs Association.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Eddie and Janet Hawkins, 5327 East Broad St., Texarkana.
