Louise Edmondson
Louise Gilmer Smith Edmondson, 81, born Aug. 6, 1928, in Magnolia, went home to our Lord on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in Camden.
Louise worked in the cotton fields at an early age before moving to Camden, where she was employed as a private sitter through Ouachita County Hospital. She loved to sew and tend to her garden. After her marriage to Aubrey, she was a homemaker and loved to help her husband with house painting and carpentry. She loved gospel music. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Lillie Gilmer; one son, Jimmy Smith; three brothers, Buddy Gilmer, David Gilmer and Sonny Gilmer; and one sister, Bernice Park. Louise leaves behind her husband of 37 years, Aubrey Edmondson of Camden; three sons, John J. Smith Jr. of Oregan, Perry Smith and wife, Ann, of Camden, and Robert Smith and wife, Sandra, of Sheridan; one daughter, Lillie Brown and husband, Leonard, of Camden; daughter-in-law, Juanita Smith; seven stepchildren, Johnny Edmondson, Ethel Mae Edmondson, Charlcys Edmondson, Eugene Edmondson, Lenorce Isaac, Charlotte Pate and Kenny Lee Edmondson; one sister, Beatrice McCoy of Camden; one brother, Lynn Gilmer of Camden; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a number of step grandchildren as well as step great- grandchildren. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 6–8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
