Vera M. Garrison Bowman, 85, of Bearden, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at John R. Williamson House in El Dorado.

She was born on Aug. 9, 1924, in Malvern. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Bearden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Martha Price Garrison; three brothers, Cecil, Melvin and Price Garrison; three sisters, Erma, Ivy and infant Garrison.

She is survived by her husband, Walter “Pete” Bowman of Bearden; one daughter, Mary Ellen Quarles of Bearden; one nephew, David Garrison of Camden; two grandchildren, Shannon Beard of Bearden and Kristen Parramore of Sherwood; four great-grandchildren, Abbey, Emma and Noah Beard, all of Bearden, and Cade Parramore of Sherwood.

Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Andy Hughes and the Rev. Wayne McGuire officiating. Burial was at Salem Cemetery.
