GENEVA G. HEAD

Geneva G. Head, 91, of El Dorado, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Tri-Ward Hospital in Bernice, La.

Born July 11, 1918, in Union County, to Thomas Jackson Head and Chaddie Goodwin Head, she retired from Monsanto in January 1987 as an accounting clerk.

A life-long resident of Union County, she was a charter member and past president of the El Dorado Desk and Derrick Club, an avid china painter, enjoyed cross-stitching, and a Baptist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers, Edward, Dennis, Leroy, William Otis and R. T. Head; and two sisters, Virginia Belle Whatley and Josephine Langston.

She is survived by two nieces, Helen Ruth Mitchell of Russellville and Geraldine Head Puckett and husband Dennis of El Dorado; and three nephews, Edwin Head and his wife, Claire, of Fountain Hill, Ariz., Thomas Head and wife, Marian of Shreveport, La., and Ray Head and his wife, Cindy, of Palm Harbor, Fla.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Rehobeth Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Murphy officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors of El Dorado.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the day of the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
