Paula Swartz Jones, 50, of Huntsville, was born Feb. 26, 1960, in Camden. She went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief, but brave struggle with cancer, showing strength and courage in the Lord on April 7, 2010.

Paula spent many years involved in church activities and cub scouts. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Huntsville and a former member of Hillside Baptist Church in Camden where she participated in several mission trips. She was very involved in her sons’ activities, supporting them in their pursuit of sports, scouting and band. She loved all her family and enjoyed many crafts.

She was most recently employed by David Madison of State Farm Insurance. Originally from Camden, she also was employed by Connie Cox of Cox Associates.

During these last few months, Paula was uplifted by all the cards, visits and acts of kindness shown her. She made the comment that she did not realize how many lives she had touched. Many people mentioned how sweet and pleasant she always was. She will be missed by al her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Swartz.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Jones; sons, Jacob and Caleb Jones, both of Huntsville; her mother, Geraldine Swartz of Camden; one brother, Wayne Swartz of Chidester; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Joanne and Dale Vaughan of East Camden and Hazel Bullock of Shreveport, La.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James H. and Peggy Jones of Camden; and nine nephews and nieces.

Brashears Funeral Home, Inc. of Huntsville is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Huntsville with the Rev. Brandon Brasel officiating. Interment will be at Venus Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
