Mary Ellen Carr Kitchel, 96, of Warren, died on Friday, April 23, 2010, at Bradley County Medical Center.

Born on May 19, 1913, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of Joe and Effie Scott Carr. She was a homemaker and a member First Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elza Kitchel; brothers Jesse, J.L., Charlie and Travis Carr, sisters Annie Tillman, Inez Pipes, Modell Mills, Janie Gavin and Ava Lee Reppond; and a grandson, Kevin Veigl.

Survivors are two sons, J.C. Kitchel of Little Rock and Herman Kitchel of Warren; one daughter, Shirley Jane Veigl of Cullman, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in Frazer’s Chapel.

Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
