Dixie Elizabeth Covington Howard passed away in her sleep at Bradford House on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at the age of 100 years and 11 months.

She was born in Saline County on Sept. 11, 1911, to Bessie Laura and Benjamin Dixon Covington.
