To the editor:

We are asked to believe a theory that people cause global climate change. We are told that most scientists accept this theory and that the book is closed insofar as the need for scientific challenge. We’ll call this unchallengeable proposition: “HAT,” the Hot Air Theory.

During the last 30 years, HAT has predicted several consequences of human activity. A one time, a global winter” was our destiny. The most recent prediction of “global warming” has now been modified: Forget cold, forget warmth. “Extreme climate change” is the forecast.
