Harlan Bryant Benson, 79, of Camden, died on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Ouachita County Medical Center.

He worked for the City of Camden for over 36 years and was a member of Camden Cumberland Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years in service to the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Jessie Benson; and a sister, Wanda Lee Rowe.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juanita Butler Benson; three daughters, Lanita Stinnett and husband, Bill, Harlene Morgan and husband, Tommy, and Janet Lucas and husband, Paul; seven grandchildren, Beau, Jake and Billy Morgan, all of Camden, Joshua Lucas of Little Rock, Wesley Lucas and Justin and Jessica Starnes, all of Camden; five great-grandchildren, Garrett Arnold, Landon and Mason Morgan, and Kayleigh and Kelsey Starnes, all of Camden; and two nieces, Mary Steed and Marsha McCarver, both of Chidester.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Proctor Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Suttle, Kenneth Treadaway and Garland Skidmore officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home in Camden.
