A pan of grease left unattended while being heated on a stove could have caused a lot more than minor damage to a Spruce Street home Thursday night.

According to Camden Assistant Fire Chief Mitch Barnett, firefighters were able to quickly snuff out the fire with a portable fire extinguisher.

The fire was reported about 10 p.m. Thursday at 626 Spruce. No injuries were reported.

Barnett said the homeowner tried to remove the flaming pan from the stove and dropped the pan on the kitchen floor.
