The City of Camden is in a state of recovery.

That’s how Mayor Chris Claybaker described the state of the city when asked for a preview of his annual State of the City address scheduled during this week’s regular monthly City Council meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Municipal Building.

Claybaker told the Camden News that city administrators made some hard choices during the past five or six years that included saving city jobs and making salaries competitive with other municipalities and the private sector.
