Ouachita County Assessor Mac Murphy is reminding residents that personal property assessments are now being taken. To avoid a late penalty, assessments must be made before June 1.

Assessments may be taken in the assessors office in the county courthouse from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by calling the assessors office at 837-2240.

Commercial property assessments must be filled out, signed and mailed to the assessors office by June 1 on the forms provided.
