In the spirit of celebrating of Black History Month, the African-American History Commission of Camden has joined the International Reading Association to endorse the 21st National African-American Read-In Chain. The Black Caucus of the National Council of Read-In Teachers of English sponsors the chain and it is endorsed by the International Reading Association, according to the program’s Web site.

The Read-In involves reading works by African American authors to young children and youth to encourage them to make reading a lifelong, life-enriching practice, the site states.
