SMACKOVER — After both the Bearden boys and girls teams qualified for next week’s 2A South Regional tournament with wins on Wednesday, neither team had much left to give in the semifinals of the 7-2A East district tournament on Thursday.

The Lady Bears were defeated by the No. 1 seeded Norphlet Lady Leopards 51-23 in the girls semifinal, while the Bears were downed by Junction City 54-39.

Bearden’s girls will now play at 7 p.m. Wednesday against the No. 1 seed from the 7-2A West conference, while the Bearden boys will play Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against the No. 2 seed f...
