State workforce information shows Ouachita County’s unemployment rate increased 0.4 percent from November to December.

According to the Department of Workforce Services, the county’s rate was 8.4 percent in December. The rate was 8 percent in November.

The county’s December workforce was estimated at 11,650, compared to 11,700 in November.

In December 10,675 county residents had jobs. In November that number was 10,775.

An estimated 975 workers were jobless in December, while in November, 925 workers were without jobs.
