Dr. Shad Porchia serves as the guest speaker during an assembly at the Bearden High School celebrating the contributions and accomplishments of black Americans. The program was held on Feb. 9. Porchia retired in 2009 as an administrator in the Camden Fairview School District and devoted 39 years to public education. During that time, he served as an administrator in the Dermott and El Dorado Public Schools as well.
