School officials deal with threat, toy pistol on campus
Around 8:15 a.m. on Friday morning, the Camden Fairview Middle School received a bomb threat via telephone and the school was evacuated, according to school district Superintendent Dr. Jerry Guess. He also addressed a rumor that a middle school student was found in possession of a toy gun.
Guess told the Camden News on Monday that, after the threat was received, middle school Principal Patsy Hughey immediately followed procedure. “We had an officer (a resource officer) at that campus, and the officer checked the perimeter while CPD and the fire department were notified,...
