MORO BAY — The cabin door opened, and an earthy smell of new hardwood floors billowed around members of the Ouachita River Commission as they filed by a chunky sofa in the living room.

Commissioners toured one of five new housekeeping cabins at Moro Bay State Park Tuesday during their quarterly meeting, getting a first-hand look at a project they helped create.

The ORC kicked in more than $115,000 for the design process, including a feasibility study that was conducted in 2007.
