Man charged with area robberies enters plea

Anthony D. Lewis, 29, of Springhill, La., pleaded guilty Monday before Judge Harry F. Barnes in the U.S. District Court in El Dorado to federal bank robbery charges.

Lewis robbed Summit Bank located on the U.S. 79-82 bypass in Magnolia at gunpoint on Nov. 13, 2009, and was apprehended a short time later in the parking lot of the Jackson Street Church of Christ.

A tip led lawmen to the rear parking lot of the Jackson Street Church of Christ on South Washington Street in Magnolia where Lewis was arrested. Off...
