Camden man seriously injured in fiery collision


Truck burns A truck stands burned and torn apart after a collision with an 18-wheeler at the intersection of Old Wire Road and U.S. 376. The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon after the driver of the truck, Jessie Hicks, 61, reportedly pulled into the road in front of the semi. See accompanying article.
A Camden businessman is in serious condition at a burn unit in a Little Rock hospital after a serious accident on Old Wire Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Evidence at the scene indicates that Jessie Hicks, 61, pulled out in front of an 18-wheeler at the intersection of Old Wire Road and U.S. 69 and was struck on the driver’s side of his vehicle. It was unclear immediately after the accident if mechanical difficulties, medical problems or any other factors played a part in the accident, law enforcement officers said.
