Clear skies welcomed vendors and visitors to the opening of the 17th Annual Camden Daffodil Festival and Garden Tours early today. The two-day festival, which includes tours of local gardens and historical sites, is centered downtown.

“The weather is beautiful,” said festival committee chairman Clara Freeland as she walked through downtown early this morning. Freeland, with cell phone in hand, was busy with a few last minute details.

Freeland said if the weather “holds out” the festival could set attendance records this year.
