A Camden City Council committee, formed to explore the splitting of the city treasurer/clerk position, will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Municipal Building on Van Buren.

Current City Treasurer/Clerk Jerry Cross, whose elected position expires this year, presented the idea of splitting the position and having an elected clerk and an appointed treasurer during the council meeting earlier this month.

Cross, who announced that he will not seek re-election this November, said he is concerned that there are no job skills qualifications for the elected position.
