Dump truck overturns near tracks, driver unhurt


Aww, snap! A maintenance truck from the City of Camden sits on its side after the vehicle overturns on Washington Street near the river front. The truck struck a power line pole, snapping it near its base. The driver suffered minor cuts and scratches. See related article.
Onlookers were momentarily shocked Wednesday afternoon when they saw an overturned city truck near the railroad tracks at the end of Washington Street near the river front.

From where they stood, it looked as if the truck was still on the tracks – and they could see that a train was approaching.

Fortunately, the truck had cleared the track and was actually several feet from the track when it finally came to rest on its side.

The driver of the truck, city worker Sam Keith, was not seriously hurt in the accident.
