Arkansas Tech University has announced that Whitney Susan Cayce of Thornton has received an Academic Excellence Scholars Award, beginning with the fall 2010 semester.

She is the daughter of Paul and Tona Cayce and is currently a student at Bearden High School.

Cayce is co-valedictorian and co-president of her senior class, and is also a honor graduate and secretary of the Beta Club.

She plans to major in nursing.
