Candidates for county assessor and coroner were heard during a rally held Saturday in Stephens, and as with the weather conditions, the candidates’ attitudes toward each other cooled off a little while their comments heated up.

Carey Lee-Jones spoke first and assured the crowd that, although she does not currently work in the assessor’s office, her past experience there coupled with her knowledge of real estate and her education as an appraiser and as a level four qualify her for the position of county assessor.
