DNA links man to 1990 rape, murder

LITTLE ROCK - Prosecutors filed capital murder and rape charges against former Louann resident John B. Yancey Jr. on Monday, just over 20 years after Treva Parks’ body was found in her Little Rock apartment.

Yancey is in an Arkansas prison for other crimes. He could be arraigned as soon as next week.

A DNA sample taken when he entered the state’s system after Yancey was convicted in September 2009 for domestic battery and aggravated assault. The charges stemmed from a Feb. 21, 2009 incident in Camden.
