Communities across the state are busy developing strategic plans as part of Gov. Mike Beebe’s statewide initiative that began last year with the completed state plan by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

Camden is no exception – work on this area’s plan also began in 2009 and is being overseen by Dr. Corbet Lamkin, chancellor of Southern Arkansas University Tech and an ex officio member of Ouachita Partnership for Economic Development.

A brief update of the area’s plan was presented Tuesday at OPED’s regular monthly meeting.
