Lions Club district governor describes Leader Dog training experience, process

Imagine being blindfolded and led around through the downtown area of a busy city by a dog without ever having interacted with the dog before and without training as a visually-impaired person. That is what Darleen Wheelington, newly-appointed governor of the Lions Club’s 7-L District, recently experienced during a training day at a Leader Dog for the Blind orientation session in Rochester, Mich.
