While some did not have to work or attend school took advantage of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday to sleep in and enjoy the day off, others in the community enjoyed the day and viewed as a “day on,” a time to reflect on the reason for the holiday and how to apply that meaning locally.
