A contractor for Union Pacific Railroad who was working near the railroad tracks in the area of Hawthorne and Norsworthy on Wednesday accidentally ruptured an oil line, spilling approximately 80 barrels of oil into the ground, according to the El Dorado Fire Department and UPR.

The crude oil line belonged to Lion Oil, who sent a response team and vacuum truck to the site to clean up the spill, which was contained in the hole that had been dug by contractor B&P Enterprises, the EFD said.
