Bobby Pierce of Sheridan has announced his candidacy for state Senate District 27.

A news release from Pierce, a Democrat, said he has been visiting business and community leaders and talking with voters in the newly redistricted state Senate District 27 for the past several months. The news release stated, “Over that time Pierce has heard loud and clear that the number one issue on voters’ minds is jobs: creating more and better opportunities for each of us to provide for ourselves and our families.”
