Man found dead of natural causes

— The neighbor of a Camden man discovered him unresponsive Wednesday at his home and it was later determined that the man was deceased, according to a news release from the Camden Police Department.

Alvin James Mullins, 70, of 298 North Street in Camden, was found unresponsive Wednesday after his neighbor reported walking to the front door of his home, looking across the street into Mullins’ yard and seeing the door of Mullins’ vehicle open and lying him face down next to the porch.

The house was still locked, states the incident report.

First responders arrived at the home and it was determined that Mullins had died. The coroner and the Camden Police Department were called to the scene.

At the home, one of Mullins’ shoes was seen on the sidewalk leading to the road, one was on the front porch steps, a cane was on the porch, and a money purse containing less than $30 and several debit/credit still in the item.

The CPD report states that EMS reported that Mullins had a history of heart problems and of diabetes.

CPD Chief Boyd Woody stated that foul play is not suspected.
