Post season awards announced, 4 make All State

The Camden Fairview Cardinals football team has four student athletes named to the All State team.

Defensive tackle Kyron Kidd and Jacobie Williams, Safety Payton Byrd and offensive lineman Jahleel Welch were all named to the 5A All State football team. Williams is the lone senior for the Cardinals to receive the honor with the three remaining student athletes set to come back for a senior year.

CF was also represented well on the 5A South All Conference team list. Full back Patrick Rucks, Lineman Sherodrick Morris, Wide Receiver and Cornerback Javien Clemmer, Slot Receiver and safety, Dashaire Ford-Burton, Defensive End Matthew Pouncil, Linebacker Erick Albert, Cornerback/Quarterback Erick Gates and Running back Erik Hall all made the All Conference team. Wide receivers Jaden Bates and Troy butler, Linebacker Amari Pace, Safety Tyree Tatum and Offensive Lineman Timothy Dawn were all honorable mention.

Rucks, Morris, Butler, Gates, Albert and Williams have also been nominated to play in the All Star Football game that will be held in the summer.

The CF defense only allowed 18 points per game and while the offense averaged 27 points per game. The Cardinals won a share of the 5A South title after winning four of its last five games.

The post season awards for Harmony Grove and Bearden will run after the 2A and 3A championship games.
