CAMDEN By PATRIC FLANNIGAN
The Camden Fairview School District celebrated yet another student athlete continuing their education and athletic career on the next level on Thursday.
C.F. Lady Cardinals Tai’Sheka Porchia signed her national letter of intent to attend classes and play basketball for Angelina College in Lufkin Texas. Porchia has accomplished a lot since joining the team as a junior last year. She is an all conference performer and is in the running to be an all state performer this year.
She has improved dramatically under Head Coach Johnny Jackson and has become a more aggressive scorer and big time blocker on defense.
Porchia is the second Lady Cardinals basketball player to sign to a college program this season after Jayla Jackson. She joins the No. 14 ranked NJCAA basketball program in the nation.
Porchia is a two-sport athlete as the 6’1 senior is also a standout performer in track. Last year, Porchia competed in the heptathlon and was second in the state.
C.F. administrators along with Porchia’s teammates and friends attended the ceremony.
