Charles Levi Garner Jr., 92, died on Feb. 11, 2019, at his home.

He was a faithful Christian and charter member of Cullendale Church of Christ. He was born on Sept. 19, 1926, to Charles Levi Garner Sr. and Alta Mouser. Charles retired from International Paper after 41 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years, Edith Garner; two sisters, Marie Edington and infant sister Wanda Garner; a brother, Robert Garner; and a great-grandson, Aaron Edens.

He is survived by his five daughters, Jeanne Prince and her husband, Thurston, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Shelia Higgs and her husband, David, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Beleta Denton and her husband, Chris, of Camden, Arkansas, Toni Toombs and her husband, Keith, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Pennie Garner of Camden; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Ouachita County Medical Center Hospice, Dr. Larry Braden, and special caregivers Johnette Phillips, Onyce Moore and Emma Scott.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. Friday, with funeral services at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Bluff City Cemetery.
